Scalise withdraws from Speaker's race: House Republicans in chaos

Congressman Steve Scalise (R-LA-1) withdrew from the Speaker’s race tonight a little over 24 hours after winning the Republican House caucus vote. He was unable to secure enough votes to win a majority vote on the House floor.

That challenge will face any Republican attempting to become Speaker without the help of Democratic votes.
